Soapbox Science Munich e.V. is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting the visibility of women and non-binary people in science. Every year, we bring cutting-edge research onto the streets of Munich – accessible, free, and open to everyone. Our annual event draws over 1,000 visitors in person, and our Kids’ Corner gives children and teenagers hands-on encounters with diverse role models in science. Now in its eighth year, the Munich chapter is part of a global network running around 45 events per year worldwide.
Our entire team of 16 volunteers – early-career researchers from nine countries – organises the event on an honorary basis. Every contribution, large or small, goes directly into making it happen.
